Holistic, Life-ready Education

(Chatralayam and Schools)

AIM for Seva’s journey began with the goal of enabling children from impoverished rural and tribal areas to have the same advantages as children of means. This gave rise to the Chatralayam (free student hostel) model.

Our flagship programme Chatralayams have been transforming the lives of children in rural and tribal India for many years now. Children who live and study at our Chatralayams benefit from uninterrupted schooling, boarding facilities, uniforms, dresses, fortified meals,  after school academic support and exposure to extracurricular activities, all free of cost.

Words of Wisdom

The consumer if he is able to contribute, then that is called Subhiksha. Everybody is a consumer. The consumer besides being just a consumer, is able to contribute more than what a person consumes, there is Subhiksha and that is sustainability. People should be able to sustain themselves and help others.

What People Say About Us

I’ve been involved with AIM for Seva for over 10 years, volunteering in fundraising from New Jersey. It was a dream come true to see the first Chatralayam established in Bardhaman, West Bengal, close to my hometown, with support from NJ donors. Visiting the boys’ Chatralayam in February 2024 was incredibly satisfying. The three-story building stands tall amid lush greenery, a testament to Pujya Swamiji’s vision. Meeting and interacting with the 66 boys was the highlight. As a public school teacher in the US, I was eager to meet them and found them respectful, well-behaved, and visibly happy. I greatly enjoyed creating cherished memories with the boys and look forward to future visits.

We are truly blessed to offer our humble contribution to the lofty movement of AIM for Seva given to us by Pujya Swami ji. As a family, we are very happy that our revered parents will also bless us for this little initiative for educating children, specially girls and women.

We have supported AIM for Seva for several years and finally visited the Lucknow Chatralayam to meet the students. The facility is immaculate, with a beautiful yard where kids can play, and the boys receive motherly support. It’s motivating to see the children provided not only with food and shelter but also strong moral and spiritual values to help them become responsible citizens. They attend a nearby school. We plan to continue supporting this organization in various ways and hope more children benefit from the opportunities AIM for Seva offers.

Visiting the girls’ hostel in Haridwar was a joy. The girls were delighted to perform dances they’ve learned and now have access to musical instruments like tabla and harmonium. I provided introductory music lessons and shared basics of sitar. Seeing the impact of AIM for Seva on the girls was truly gratifying. The organization’s commitment to their education and future preparation is commendable, shaping them into well-rounded individuals. It was an honor to contribute to this effort.

I am very happy to know about the launch of the new facility of Swami Dayananda Krupa Home by the Governor Thiru R.N. Ravi. Krupa has a special place in Pujya Swami ji’s heart. I appreciate your special effort in upgrading this home with more features. And you will have a special blessing for this from Pujya Swami ji.

The coordinator of the Swami Dayananda Rotary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kadalur, Tamil Nadu, and her wonderful staff received us with a very warm heart.  I got a nice tour of the current school. I really enjoyed addressing the very attentive and curious children. Let us build more schools (temples of education).
