On our Founder, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s 93rd birth date (15th August 2023), we reaffirm our commitment to his seva ideals.
From the present, we would now like to take you back in time to Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi on 27th November 2000.
The Founder, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s inspiring words. “India is a land of rich cultural unity and diversity, but there is not adequate dialogue or connection between people in the urban and rural areas with those living in the hills, forests and tribal regions. We need to bridge this gap and express our care…”
Thus, AIM for Seva was launched.

Truly An All India Movement of Seva
- Over 20 million lives positively impacted.
- 4,000 children from rural India and tribal lands get access to daily school education thanks to the Chatralayam, AIM for Seva’s flagship programme, year on year.
- Over 4 million nutritious meals served annually.
- 94 Chatralayams, across 17 States.
Located in close vicinity to a school in many last mile areas, the Chatralayam or free student hostel provide a safe and secure boarding residence for students from rural India and backward regions. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and students stay here for 10 months every year and go to a school which is located usually within walking distance.
In addition to providing access to the nearby K-12 school, the Chatralayam eco-system ensures overall physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being of a child by exposing them to regular activities and programmes such as daily sports and yoga, vocational training support, cultural activities and academic coaching and support.
Be the Movement
A noteworthy feature of AIM for Seva’s Chatralayam is that everything to the student is provided completely free of cost. This includes boarding, 3 nutritious meals, school fees, books and stationery, clothing, sports gear and regular health check-up and medicines, and educational support like tuitions.
