On 22 June 2023, the Swami Dayananda Personality Centre was inaugurated in Anaikatti, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In a bid to inculcate and foster proper behavioural and emotional skills, among students and society at large, a series of courses have been devised for students, young professionals, women and the society at large.
Titled Scholastic, two sets of courses (primary and higher secondary) have been designed for school going students. Separate tutors will be arranged for boys and girls.
The bridge course covers portions on basic Tamil, English and mathematics for the students. This will enable drop-out students to get back on the academic track.
To enable proper personality development, courses on Communicative English, Hindi and Sanskrit have been devised. In addition, this segment will have a yoga, silambam, Carnatic music (with a focus on percussion, Mridangam and tabla) and computer training. The college goer segment will find the personality development module extremely useful as it will help and enable them in interview preparation.
For the women folk, the course module will focus on entrepreneurship training and education on government related schemes related to self employment. In addition, the course will have a yoga for women module as well as counseling sessions.
An E-seva centre will also function out of the Personality Development centre. This is proposed to act as a bridge between the various government schemes and villagers.
The inaugural function of the Personality Development Centre saw the participation of Swami Sadatmananda Saraswati ji, Chief Acharya, AVG, Anaikatti & Trustee, Sruti Seva Trust
Swamini Brahmaleenananda Saraswati ji, Sri. D. Sundara Raman, Sri. J. Sandhosh, Managing Director, SR Jungle Resort, Anaikatti and Dr. V. Narayanan, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission, Agali, Palakkad, Kerala.
In addition, 60 people from the local community also participated in the function.
