N.S. Tejashwini, a Class 9 student and residing at the Swami Dayananda AIM for Seva Chatralayam for Girls, Yelahanka, Karnataka, recently gave a speech in her school’s YouTube channel on Kannada Rajyotsava.
Tejashwini recently won the second prize in a science project on food adulteration.
She joined the Chatralayam in Yelahanka in 2015 when she was in Class 5 and 12 years of age. Tejashwini hails from Bagepalli, Chikkballapur district, Karnataka. Her father, Sri. Shiva Reddy is an agriculturist while her mother is a homemaker. She has one older and one younger sister.
Tejashwini has set her sights on becoming a software engineer and if she accomplishes this feat, she will become the first in her family to get into this field.
“After coming to the Chatralayam, I have learnt the importance of discipline, daily prayers and yoga. My concentration towards studies has improved quite a bit and I am able to interact and socialise with others with confidence. Apart from providing access to good schooling, the Yelahanka Chatralayam has also provided me with other facilities to enable me to complete my education,” says Tejashwini.
