A Topper All the Way

She has just started her career and her office iLenSys Technologies Pvt. Limited is located in the upscale Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The company’s core focus is integrated engineering services.

Kumari Siddi Triveni is a junior engineer in the software development division having been absorbed at an annual pay package of Rs. 3.5 lakhs. Right now, she is undergoing training. “The training period will soon end and I will be allotted a project. As part of that, I have already been given certain test cases that I am reviewing currently,” shares Triveni.

She completed her B.Tech degree in computer science engineering from Krishna Chaitanya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Markapuram, Andhra Pradesh last year.

And this young and bright girl was literally in the news in 2021 when she scored 977/1000 in her 12 board exams. Triveni secured the first position among 1,000 students and was ranked first in her mandal.  What’s more, she was also one of the toppers from her institution, Nucleus Junior College. Local dailies covered her academic exploits then.

In her class 10 public exam (2018-2019), Triveni scored a perfect 10 (10 GPA) and secured the first position in school (Sri Shantiniketan School, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh).

Triveni who hails from Lingapuram village, Bandi Atmakur mandal, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, joined the Nandyal Chatralayam , Andhra Pradesh (Swami Dayananda AIM for Seva Tribal Girls Chatralayam) in 2012 (Class 4). From then onwards, there was no looking back for her.

She had lost her father when she was very young. Triveni along with her mother and brother moved back to her maternal grandparents’ home then. It is through relatives that Triveni’s family came to know of a safe home away from home for girls at Nandyal. “Looking back, the daily exercise regime, lessons from our epics, moral values, and Sundays being a play day, everything about hostel life was fun filled. In addition, we had regular visitors at the Chatralayam and we girls found such interactions and talks to be very inspirational,” reminiscences Triveni.

Very soon, the Nandyal Chatralayam became her second home and the warden and his wife, Sri. Moksheswara Reddy and his wife, Mallama became her second parents, Amma and Nanna.

Interestingly, Triveni continues her hostel journey, only difference is that it’s a working women’s boarding residence now. But she longs for and yearns for the Nandyal Chatralayam. “For one,  Nandyal which incidentally was a free student hostel was lot more cleaner and well maintained at any given point of time than the paid one that I am currently residing in,” quips  Triveni. In fact, a hallmark of life at the Nandyal Chatralayam is the sense of discipline and perfection that is deeply ingrained in the daily routine.

It’s not just the hygiene element. It’s the other small things that Triveni deeply misses. “Today, I have access to OTT (over-the-top media) at any given point of time but nothing like the weekend movie nights at the hostel where we all sat together and watched the film of the week. It was one big family with many girl friends,” recounts Triveni very warmly.

The climax  is reserved for the end. Girls, Triveni is planning something special once she gets her second month’s salary. A trip to the hostel is on the cards. So like always, be ready to welcome her with open arms.
