There is a growing awareness and push that learning in formative years should not be restricted to books alone. Students should be exposed to arts and creative intelligence programmes as well as project-based learning workshops.
On 2nd September 2026, a special Bharatanatyam cultural programme was organised at the Swami Dayananda Rotary Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kadalur, Tamil Nadu in a bid to introduce our students to the elegance, grace, and rich heritage of India’s classical art form.
Renowned artists Sri. Srijith Nambiar and Smt. Parvathi Menon, both distinguished alumni and former faculty of the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, captivated the audience with an enchanting performance. They also shared valuable insights on the beauty, intricacies, and traditional significance of Bharatanatyam.
Adding to the splendour, Sri. Shijit and Ms. Parvathi’s student, Lakshmi Priya presented a graceful recital that was warmly appreciated by all.
This programme offered our students a memorable opportunity to experience the timeless charm of Indian art and culture, leaving them inspired and enriched.
On 12th September 2026, students at the Swami Dayananda AIM for Seva Chatralaym for Girls, Yelahanka, Karnataka, were in for a special treat. Renowned flautist, Sri. Pravin Godkhindi engaged with our students that culminated into a very inspiring session. During the course of interaction, Sri. Pravin Godkhindi shared valuable insights of the art of flute playing and the beauty of Indian classical music. This programme provided the Yelahanka girls with meaningful exposure to India’s rich musical heritage, fostering appreciation and curiosity for the classical arts.
And with the festival of lights being round then corner, a one day (on 26th September 2026), diya making workshop was organized for the students, fostering creativity and cultural expression. The participants enthusiastically crafted 300 diyas, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Deepa Nath, who specialises in pencil sketching, watercolor and decoupage. She has been associated with AIM for Seva for a few years now and this relationship has been very fulfilling for her, witnessing their growth and sharing of fond memories during numerous classes.
