Support for Residents with Developmental Disabilities

The question of ‘Who after me?’ is one that haunts the parents of differently abled individuals. What if there was a solution that addressed this question, by providing a place where differently abled, differently beautiful people could come into their own? This was the vision behind the setting up of the Swami Dayananda Krupa Care and AIM for Seva Shanmuga Society.

Swami Dayananda Krupa Care

Swami Dayananda Krupa Care (formerly AIM for Seva Krupa Home) was started in 2010 by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Located in Maduvankarai, Sriperumbudur (40 km from Chennai), Swami Dayananda Krupa Care is a residential facility that caters to differently abled men with varied developmental disabilities (such as autism and cerebral palsy). The facility was launched with the objective of providing each differently-abled individual with dedicated lifetime care and support. Qualified caretakers help to assist and enable the residents to strengthen their abilities, learn new skills and go through each day with dignity and self-confidence. Today, Swami Dayananda Krupa Care has 32 male residents, between 18 and 65 years of age.

AIM for Seva Shanmuga Society

The AIM for Seva Shanmuga Society, which was started in 2002 with the blessings of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati (located in Hyderabad), works with children with special needs. The centre conducts special education classes, speech therapy and counselling sessions for 19 students.
