A Dance-Theatre Production

Shiva Shakti is a dance-theatre that has found its genesis at a time when we have all, as a world, been forced to introspect, cope and find expressions, anew…Shiva Shakti is a search to connect the animate and the inanimate world. One exists for the other. One shelters the other. Simultaneously, and spontaneously. Shiva Shakti – the inanimate and the animate. In the cosmic cycle they come together again and again, to bring universal harmony.

Sharmila Biswas is an acclaimed dancer and choreographer in the Odissi school of dance. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Odissi Vision and Movement Center in Kolkata. Sharmila Biswas was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2012.

by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati

In this talk, Pujya Swamiji touches on a core aspect of our lives – desires. Fulfilling desires is referred to as being a ‘consumer’ in Western psychology. Pujya Swamiji says that management of desires – ensuring you drive them, and that you are not driven by them – is success. This style of management by the individual converts a job into a duty to be done. Duty performed without being bound by desires is ‘success’.

Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati was a profound thinker, philosopher, spiritual teacher and one of the greatest masters of Vedanta. He was the founder of AIM for Seva, Swami Dayananda Educational Trust, Arsha Vidya Research & Publication Trust and Arsha Vidya Gurukulams. Pujya Swamiji was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2016.

Donate Towards Anna Danam – and fill the hearts of 250 children with love!

AIM for Seva supports over 4,000 children year on year across 104 Chatralayas in 16 Indian states. Due to the pandemic, the children were sent to ensure safety and social distancing. Now, as states begin to loosen restrictions, we are beginning to welcome children back to the Chatralayas. It has been a trying and testing 8 months for the children, who have had to stay home through the pandemic and lockdown. Many of them come from very humble families in remote villages and tribal settlements, and the support received from the Chatralayas is invaluable to them. These children are eagerly returning to the Chatralayas with hearts full of hope, having missed school and our care and attention all this time.

Our primary task is to fulfil their basic need of 3 nutritious meals every day. Help us serve the 250 children living in our Chatralayas with daily meals – and fill their hearts with love.

All contributions will receive Tax exemption under Section 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961.
