Raju Singh Dhurve, an AIM for Seva alumnus shares his educational to employment journey with us. He stayed across our Chatralayams in Madhya Pradesh (Vikrampur and Kareli) and Tamil Nadu (Sembangudi and Thippanampettai) since 2008.
“Namaste. This is Raju Singh Dhurve from Madhya Pradesh. I have completed my graduation in B. Sc (Physics) from the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu. Currently, I am working with Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai.
I belong to a poor family and my family background isn’t that good. I have two brothers and they are not well educated because of financial issues back home. With the help of Swami ji (Swami Aishvaryananda Saraswati ji, the coordinator of AIM for Seva’s projects in Madhya Pradesh) and the AIM for Seva Trust, I am the only one to have completed my graduation and taken up a job now.
I would now like to share my journey. I joined the AIM for Seva Chatralayam located in Vikrampur (Swami Dayananda AIM for Seva Chatralayam for Boys, Dindori), Madhya Pradesh, in 2008 when I was in Class 6. After joining the Chatralayam eco sytem, my entire life changed—physically, mentally and spiritually. We used to do so many activities in the hostel on a daily basis like prayers, exercise and sports, yoga, learning mantras and bhajans.Regular participation in such activities ensured the hostel resembled one big family. There was never a dull moment in hostel life and we all enjoyed every moment of our Chatralayam days.
By doing such activities on a regular basis, we have become mentally strong and started imbibing positive thoughts. More importantly, such value-based educational activities have also taught me how to deal with critical situations in life. To ensure that we get good education, Swamiji provided us with coaching, online classes while other volunteers helped us with subject knowledge and written preparation for examinations.
Every month, Swami Aishvaryananda Saraswati ji visited our Chatralayam and we learnt the importance of time management and how to deal with critical situations and problems. The staff at AIM for Seva taught us the importance of honesty, hard work and giving respect to others. I have completed my graduation in Tamil Nadu and have learnt so many new things like a different language. I was exposed to a different culture. I have learnt Tamil.
After completing graduation, I am now working in TCS and my whole family is very happy. I am grateful to Param Pujya Swamiji (Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Founder, AIM for Seva), Swami Aishvaryananda Saraswati, Sheela ji (Chairperson and Managing Trustee, AIM for Seva) and others for their guidance and support. I thank all AIM for Seva donors from America and Canada as without their donations, our studies could have not been completed. Keep blessing me, thank you.”
