Across the four corners of the country, AIM for Seva volunteers are providing relief supply and other materials to the poor, destitute, casual and migrant labourers.
Recently, a group of AIM for Seva volunteers distributed grocery kits to 200 slum families residing near Tiruvottiyur, Chennai. Many members from these families are casual labourers working in the nearby steel mills and at the Koyambedu fruit and vegetable market. They are currently unemployed on account of the lockdown.
The grocery pack containing onions, potatoes and pickles among other things will be sufficient to meet the nutritional requirements of these families for the next fortnight. Similar packets were also delivered at Vadamadurai near Periyapalayam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, by AIM for Seva volunteers a few days back.
The staff and volunteers at the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Anaikatti, Tamil Nadu, also distributed 650 food packets to villagers from 9 villages surrounding the Gurukulam recently.
