Republic Day was celebrated at the Swami Dayananda Matric Higher Secondary School, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu by unfurling of the tricolour. The school students displayed their patriotism by putting up a beautiful cultural performance.
In other news, acclaimed danseuse and choreographer and AIM for Seva’s supporter, Sharmila Biswas held a series of fun filled workshops for the teachers and this would be shared with the school students in due course. Dubbed as the ‘dance way method of teaching,’ the idea is to improve the child’s attention span and give full freedom. In Sharmila Biswas’ words, “Through some basic dance movements, the child is made to do a set of activities that will make him or her happy. It’s important to think of funny movements too which they will enjoy doing like stretching themselves with a focus.”
In our endeavour to provide value-based education, what’s indeed gratifying is that this educational model is receiving validation from supporters in India and overseas. We are happy to share a few testimonials in this section.
“Inspiring to see the talent and feel the optimistic energy of graduates at the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science convocation at Manjakkudi . Bhartiya Values + Young India Talent= Nation Building. Bharata Desa Hitaya as Pujya Swami Dayananda ji dreamt.

“Impressed with the innovation and quality of teaching at the Swami Dayananda Matric Higher Secondary School, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu. The approach to Pre-KG teaching was very revealing. In the 3rd grade, the innovation of pairing an advanced student with a less advanced student is excellent. The Sanskrit and music classes were also impressive. The Swami Dayananda Vedapatashala, Kodavasal, Tamil Nadu is just marvellous. What a wonderful training!

The kids were very happy to be in the school–rare occurrence. It is due to care and love they receive. Teachers appear to be responding to their calling. This school can be a model school for any other in the world. That the focus is on comprehensive development of a child was very evident. From pre-KG to upper grades, it takes into account all motor abilities to psychological development. The rigorous training in the Swami Dayananda Vedapatashala, Kodavasal , Tamil Nadu was amazing. Overall, very impressed.
