A daughter of a farmer and a homemaker and a native of Tiwadiya village, Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, Priyanka joined the Inder and Prabha Sharma Higher Secondary School, Madhya Pradesh in 2012. She scored 70% in her Class 10 board examination and got 80.2% in her Class 12 board examination.

In 2016, Priyanka moved down south and enrolled for the the B.Com in bank management degree at the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu. She scored an aggregate of 69% in the first five semesters.

During her final year, Priyanka took part in ‘Academics to Business,’ a bridge course that equips graduates with professional competencies so that they are productive from day one in an organisation. She underwent training in resume writing, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, English communication skills, soft skills, MS- Excel, group discussions and interview skills facilitated by the training and placement cell of the college.

Her participation in the ‘Academics to Business’ course got her the desired results. Priyanka and 13 others from the college were selected by City Union Bank during campus placement. The interview process consisted of descriptive, online tests and an interview.

Priyanka is currently working as a trainee (junior associate), City Union Bank, Ahmedabad.

She is pleased to share her life’s journey with the AIM for Seva family.

“Namaste. I am Priyanka from Madhya Pradesh. I joined the Inder and Prabha Sharma Higher Secondary School, Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh (run by AIM for Seva) in 2012 in Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh.  At that time, I was in Class 9.  My learning in that institution was not just restricted to studies. I learnt about Indian culture, games and dancing. My academic performance started to improve after I joined the Inder and Prabha Sharma Higher Secondary School, Khategaon, Madhya Pradesh. And that is how I passed my Class 12.

After that I told Swamiji (Swami Aishvaryananda Saraswati ji, the coordinator of our Chatralayams in Madhya Pradesh) that I would like to go to Tamil Nadu and he replied in the affirmative, Of course Beta, and you can go with your elders’ permission. Somehow, I managed to convince my parents and came to Manjakkudi in Tamil Nadu and studied there for three years. I completed my B.Com in bank management from the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu and with the grace of Swamiji; I got a job in City Union Bank.

Currently, I am working with the Ahmedabad branch of the City Union Bank as a trainee associate. I take this opportunity to thank Swamiji and everyone else in the AIM for Seva family.  I would not have been able to achieve all this success had it not been the support extended by Swamiji and Sheela Maam (Sheela Balaji, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, AIM for Seva). I want to say that AIM for Seva is my home away from home.  Thank you, thank you, thank you. Whatever I have achieved today is because of AIM for Seva.”
